How To Keep Your Skin Glowing During The Summertime

Yay! The hot rays of the sun are quickly approaching us which means spring is nearly over. I have some advice on how to maintain healthy, radiant skin during the summer so that you are not a sufferer of the harsh rays of the ☀️ .

Although the summer is a time for unwinding and letting go, we can’t let go of our skin! Because our skin is extremely sensitive to ultraviolet light, it’s crucial that we continue to take care of it no matter what the weather is like.

“The sun’s ultraviolet light can cause major damage to the skin. The outer layer of the skin has cells that contain the pigment melanin. Melanin protects skin from the sun’s ultraviolet rays. These can burn the skin and reduce its elasticity, leading to premature aging.”

Summer Glowing Skin Routine

wear sunscreen

Sunscreen is an essential skincare weapon against those dangerous ultraviolet rays. Make sure to grab sunscreen that contains an SPF of 30 or higher. Your beautiful skin will thank you in the end!

stay hydrated

Due to the summer’s increased heat and humidity, there may be some excessive sweating. Therefore, it’s crucial to be and remain extremely hydrated. The strongest supporter is cold water.

Fun Fact: Water not only keeps your body hydrated but it also keeps the skin refreshed and helps maintain your skin elasticity.

Scrub, scub and srub some more

One word: exfoliate. Routine exfoliation in the shower will definitely help prepare your skin for the best possible hydration in the form of toners, moisturizers, and lotions. By clearing and throwing away dead skin cells and opening your pores will make your skin glow brighter than the sun.

less makeup goes a long way

Because the skin needs to take a deep breath, wear as minimal makeup as possible instead when it’s extremely hot and humid outside because these formulations are light and anti-inflammatory, which is no bueno for the skin. If you must have a foundation in your makeup routine and can’t part with it, choose a tinted moisturizer with SPF and set it with powder for a natural finishing look.

use some toner & serum

Toners and serums are super essential and vital for the summer. A good toner/serum maintains your skin to be clear, clean, and free of all of the grimy oil. Your T-zone should get the utmost attention when applying toner/serum because it is the area of your face that produces the most oil during the summer.

As summer gets closer and closer, keeping our skin healthy is our #1 summer priority! Which one will you incorporate into your summer skincare routine?
